Conference Updates and Announcements

SandclockTime is running out! We have days before our 43rd Biennial Conference begins! The next early bird deadline for registration will end May 4th, 2011. After May 4th, registration is $100.00 for combo!!

  • KAD will be selling raffle tickets for door prizes
  • Raffle tickets must be purchased from one of the Officers or Board Members
  • Tickets for raffles will be 2 for $5.00 or 6 for $10.00. These are good prizes from: Outback Steakhouse, Longhorn, TGIF, Sam’s Club, Best Buy, Cheesecake factory, Spaghetti factory, Kentucky Railroad Museum, Target store, Wal-Mart stores, Two Chicks & Company, Maker’s Mark Lounge, The Pub, Louisville Ghost Walks, Old Kentucky Chocolate, Good Foods, Logan’s Roadhouse, Cracker Barrel, Penn Station, Joe Crabs Shack, Donatos Pizza, Tickets to Louisville baseball game, St. Louis Cardinals game tickets, Raising Cane’s and Smashburger, and many more.   • KAD will be selling tickets for iPad drawing winner will be announced on Saturday, June 18, 2011 during the banquet awards.
  • Tickets for the iPad will be selling for $5.00 each or 3 for $10.00
  • Deadline for Hotel RSVP at the Griffin Gate Marriott Resort and Spa will be May 26th, 2011. After that the price will go up and we cannot guarantee the conference rates. Book your rooms now!!
  • Free breakfast will be provided only if you stay overnight at the Marriott. You will receive tickets for a free hot breakfast.
  • Deadline for advertisements in program book is May 31, 2011.

As a member of the Kentucky Association of the Deaf, you are invited to see the Indiana Fever in action for a discounted price! Your family and friends can see the same great basketball action! After the game, WNBA All-Star Tamika Catchings will speak to the group overcoming her own deafness and over coming adversity!

Deaf Language Model Training

The Eastern Kentucky University Interpreter Outreach Program proudly presents a workshop by Albert Walla and Jenny Stenner.

This workshop is designed to help Deaf and hard‐of‐hearing people learn how to model ASL for those learning to sign, so that learners can improve their skills in a real‐world setting.
