NAD Conference and DeaFestival 2012 Information Update

The National Association of the Deaf (NAD) 2012 conference has been posted on NAD's website. Please check the NAD website at if you are interested in purchasing your ticket combo and hotel information.

The "Belle of Louisville" steamboat cruise offers a very nice boat ride which includes entertainment and fireworks on Wednesday night, July 4, 2012. Tickets, which are not included with the NAD registration combo, are $40.00 each. Tickets are limited so please hurry. If you have any questions, please email Sharon at

The NAD registration "early bird combo" is $135.00 if you purchase by February 29, 2012.

If you are interested in becoming an NAD member and/or giving a donation to NAD, please complete the Individual Membership/Donation Form and submit it to NAD.

Kentucky Association of the Deaf (KAD) is asking that you please support KAD's fundraising efforts by downloading the NAD Conference Registration Form here so that KAD will receive a share of the profits from NAD. The forms you download from the KAD website has a special code on them which ensures that KAD will get a share of the profits. KAD would sincerely appreciate it and it would help KAD with local efforts.

Don't miss THIS EVENT and please help spread the word about it to everyone. A week of "DEAF EVENTS" culminating in DeaFestival 2012, all day on Saturday July 7, 2012!

KATS Vacancy

To All Who Are Interested in Assistive Technology:

Please consider serving on the Kentucky Assistive Technology Service (KATS) Network Advisory Council to help provide guidance to the State on providing assistive technology (AT) to the thousands of Kentuckians with disabilities who use or need AT. This program is funded under the Federal Assistive Technology Act of 1998, as amended.

The KATS Network is currently seeking individuals to serve on the Advisory Council in the positions of representative of a State Center for Independent Living, representative of a Kentucky State Educational Agency, a representative from the Western and Northern Kentucky areas who represent individuals with disabilities who use assistive technology or the family members or guardians of the individuals who will serve with the responsibility to help provide guidance to the State on providing assistive technology (AT) to the thousands of Kentuckians with disabilities who use or need AT.
